Driving to Secret Beach: the full route from San Pedro

How to drive a golf cart to Secret Beach from San Pedro — the route, drive time, road conditions, and tips for an easy trip north.

Driving to Secret Beach: the full route from San Pedro

Secret Beach is the north island's shallow, calm-water hangout, and a golf cart is the only sensible way to get there. Here's exactly how to make the drive from downtown San Pedro.

The route

Plan on roughly 30 to 45 minutes for the trip — about 7 miles all in. You'll head about 3.8 miles north and cross the Boca del Rio bridge, then turn west at the Secret Beach Junction for the final 3.3 miles.

Road conditions

Stretches of the road are still unpaved, so your drive time swings with the weather and how rough the dirt is that day. Take the loose sections slowly and you'll be fine in one of our lifted carts.

Tips for an easy trip

  • Set out before 10:00 AM to beat the midday traffic and get good parking

  • There's a gas station near the Secret Beach Junction (about the halfway point) if you want to top off along the way

  • Your J&H rental already includes the Boca del Rio bridge pass, so you can roll straight through the toll

Rent the right cart

Our lifted 4- and 6-seaters handle the north-island roads well. See Secret Beach rentals, check rates, or book a cart for your trip.
